Taylor Momsen – who plays Jenny Humphrey on “Gossip Girl” – will miss an unspecified number of episodes next season for “creative reasons” meaning Taylor wants to spend more time making music than acting.
Momsen and her band “The Pretty Reckless” have their debut single, “Make Me Wanna Die” featured on the “Kick-Ass” movie soundtrack.
The 16 year-old actress/singer claims she has been through a lot and it really helped her to build a strong, independent character.
“I do what I choose, I wear what I choose, I sing what I choose and I don’t care what anyone else thinks,” she says.
“Clothes are a form of self-expression. I don’t care what other people think. I’ve had lots of people say I’m disgraceful because I should act like a role model for other young kids but I’m not a role model.”
“I’m an actress, I’m a singer and I don’t want to be a role model. If you like me that’s fantastic – but if you don’t, stop giving me a hard time.”
“Music inspires me,” she says of her choice to bare what she will.
“Fashion means everything. I mean, it’s art. Art means everything to me, so fashion’s another side of it. It’s expression, it’s music, it’s a way of showing and really being who you are in your own way that no one can take away from you.”
The 16 year-old actress also says she dates only older boys/men, saying: “Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is. I would eat a boy my age alive….”
